What We Believe

  1. The Scripture – We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in its original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:15-16)
  2. God – We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19; Matthew 5:48)
  3. Jesus Christ – We believe that the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, begot Jesus Christ and is true God and man. (Philippians 2:6-11; Luke 1:34-38)
  4. Man – We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and there by incurred not only physical but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23)
  5. Salvation – We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe on Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become Children of God. (Titus 3:4-7; John 3:16)
  6. The Resurrection – We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate. (1 Corinthians 15:20-23; John 5:28-29)
  7. The Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit indwells, enlightens and empowers the saved. (Acts 2:1-5; Romans 8:2-6; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10-11)
  8. The Enemy – We believe that Satan, a fallen angel, is the god of this age, the adversary of Christ and His church, and that his destiny is everlasting punishment. (Isaiah 14:12-15; 2 Corinthians 11:14; 2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 Peter 5:8; 1 John 3:8; Revelation 20:10)
  9. The Future – We believe in the “Blessed Hope”, the personal and premillennial return of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (Hebrews 10:37; Luke 21:27; Titus 2:11-14)
